Vonage Sucks

by tyler on June 25, 2006

So, I recently took part in the Vonage IPO under their direct purchase plan they offered to their “loyal” customers. I purchased 200 shares of VG at $17 per share. Since the IPO, the stock has tumbled to it’s current range of $8.

In hindsight, it’s easy to see why Vonage was so willing to allocate shares to their customers. Wall Street wanted nothing to do with the IPO, so they (Vonage) took advantage of it’s customer base to prop up the stock offering. I feel like I have been used and scammed.

There are no fewer than 10 Class action lawsuits regarding the Vonage IPO. I plan on researching them and taking part in one.

I will be cancelling my service soon and advising friends and family who have Vonage to do the same.

I am glad you posted this, I was looking into getting a VOIP just this morning. I was checking out SunRocket VOIP – they JUST ended a deal that was 199.99 for 2 years of unlimited usage – now it’s back to 199.99 for one year which is still a better deal than Vonage.

I know you were a big supporter of Vonage and have used them for a while now, there is NO WAY I will use them now bro!

I just googled myself and came across this site. Taking a break from trying to teach myself web design. My name is also Tyler Nichols. This feels not like a doppelganger but a trippelganger.

I like the new look, update on sun-rocket VOIP. It’s worth about what I paid, nothing special, just inexpensive.

Well, Sun Rocket is out of business, I prepaid for 2 years and therefore lost a year of service. I am done with VOIP and a home phone all together.

They are terrible I signed on 5/2/2007, I got equipment that I paid for
on 5/15/2007. The service was not working I called and asked them
to send someone out to fix my main phone line and they said that no
one could come out until 6/7/2007.
I cancelled on 5/16/2007 I talked to at least 8 people and I told them
all that I was cancelling because the service sucked!!!!!
I had no service on my main line in my home from 5/15/2007 through
6/7/2007. I went back to AT&T I again told Vonage that I was cancelling. I recently checked my email messages and found out that
they have been fraudently billing my debit card since May.

I called to tell them that they had better stop billing my account the
woman supervisor said that they had every right to bill my account!!
She said that it would cost me $89.98 to cancel !! I told her that she
better not take any more money out of my account. I hung and called
my bank, I was to late the charge was pending!!! I had to cancell my
debit card to keep Vonage from continuing to take payments out of
my account!! I am furious and I plan to sue.

Vonage has always worked great for me. I’ve had it for 4 years now.

I had them for over 5 years.. There service was always decent for me. My complaint wasn’t with the service, rather with them ripping off the very early adopter customers with their bogus IP) / direct stock purchase scam.

I hate Vonage because of their stupid TV commericals. They’re lame, stupid, and down right arrogant. The commericals with the van and the one with the woman interrupting the Phone Company commerical are examples of how arrogant and insulting Vonage is. I hope their commericals get burned to a smoldering crisp.

I agree with you about the commercials!
